Mindful breathing technique to relieve stress

💥 Combat the mid day slump while reducing stress with Square Breathing!



✅ 📦 The Square Breathing (or Box Breathing) technique helps reduce anxiety, creating more focus by calming the nervous system and shifting the body from a “fight or flight” state to a relaxed state.



↪️ The how: This technique involves inhaling, holding, exhaling, and holding out the breath for equal counts (e.g., four seconds each).



↪️ It works by:



- Activating the Parasympathetic Nervous System - Slow, controlled breaths stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes relaxation and reduces stress hormone levels like cortisol.



- Lowering Heart Rate and Blood Pressure - The deliberate rhythm of inhaling, holding, exhaling, and pausing slows the heart rate and reduces blood pressure, counteracting physical symptoms of anxiety.



- Promoting Focus and Mindfulness - Concentrating on the breath anchors the mind, reducing racing thoughts and providing a sense of control during overwhelming moments.



- Regulating Breathing Patterns -


It counters shallow, rapid breathing associated with anxiety, replacing it with deeper, more oxygen-rich breaths.
